Nightline is now open for the exam period via IM only. We aim to be available from 8am to 8pm every night of the semester.
We apologise for our recent closures. We are currently struggling to fill all our shifts but hope to resume our full service again soon. If you need someone to talk to and cannot get through to us, Samaritans are available 24/7 and provide a similar service to us. You can call Samaritans at 116 123. Thank you for your patience at this time.
If you’d like to volunteer with us, please fill in this form by midnight on Monday 13th February 2023: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSezopDpPGHxC3zND0obbJPTcChxyW58Lp5RqIFhuDZhx4fUMw/viewform
We are now offline, but will be online from 8pm-8am.
We are a student-run, confidential, and non-judgmental peer-to-peer support listening service for students here at the University of Bath. We are open from 8pm to 8am every night of term and our trained volunteers are happy to listen to anything you may wish to discuss. Nothing is too difficult or too trivial to be worth mentioning. We won’t judge you or tell you what to do. We will simply listen to whatever is on your mind.
All our volunteers are students themselves, who have undergone extensive training and who understand that University life isn’t always plain sailing.
What Can I Contact Nightline About?
We receive all sorts of calls, from students who have nothing on their mind and just want to chat, to students who are highly distressed and need urgent support. Here is a list of example calls we might receive:
This is just a short list of the wide range of subjects we are contacted about; we really mean it when we say ‘No issue is too big or too small.’
